Publisher Commission Tools for Awin Access Advertisers
This guide is designed to help you understand the different commission tools available to award flexible commissions for your publishers.

Commission Manager
What is it?
Commission Manager is an Awin Commission Management tool that gives advertisers full flexibility to manage their publisher commissions. You can set standard rates on your programme, or choose to reward publishers individually. You can schedule campaigns and promotional commission (CPA) rates changes at a granular level like brands, departments, product categories, customer loyalty, transaction source and more. The Commission Manager keeps the information about what rates your publishers were on at a certain time in the past and takes it into account when transactions are amended. It also gives you a view of current and upcoming rates for your publishers.
When to use the tool?
- Awarding publishers higher CPA in exchange for exposure
- Increasing CPA rates on publisher sites that give back to the customer i.e. cashback/loyalty sites
- Open-ended bespoke rates for individual publishers or specific publisher types

In the navigation bar, go to Commission > Commission Manager.

Note: this page references commission groups. As an Awin Access advertiser, you will only have access to the one default commission group. Please skip over this section of the guide, as it's not applicable to your account.
Commission by Basket Value
What is it?
The commission by basket value tool allows you to do just that, to choose a specific commission rate depending on the value of the order. Rules consist of commission groups, transaction tiers and their associated commission rates, publishers, and a scheduled start date (with the option to schedule a finish date or leave it open-ended).
When to use the tool?
- To increase the average order value (AOV) by awarding a higher CPA on larger orders
- Setting tiered CPA on publisher sites that give back to the customer i.e. cashback/loyalty sites

Commission by Assist
What is it?
An assist is when an affiliate has helped contribute to a sale for which they are not rewarded on the last click wins basis. The ‘assists’ can be seen in the interface. The functionality of this tool is to allow advertisers to better reward potentially undervalued publishers in order to generate more sales.
When to use the tool?
- When you want to award affiliates who have influenced a sale but are not rewarded on the last click wins basis.
- For example, to award the editorial and comparison sites for the role they have played in influencing the consumer on their path to conversion.

Bonus Manager
What is it?
The Bonus Manager can be used to reward your publishers based upon their performance during the current month. Please note that the rewards will be automatically given to publishers based on the rules you create and will depend on the publisher's performance in the current calendar month. You can create, edit and delete existing rules.
When to use the tool?
- To incentivise publishers to drive performance during a particular month
- Drive publisher engagement with your programme
- Establish closer relationships with mid/long tier publishers
