Publisher Crossover Report

Overview

The Publisher Crossover report lets you compare sales that had touchpoints with two publishers. When sales have a touchpoint with more than one publisher, it’s called “crossover”. You can use the Publisher Crossover report to see how crossover affects average order value (AOV), time taken to convert, and number of steps taken to convert.

Using the Publisher Crossover Report

Before you begin, ensure the following:

  • You have an Awin Advanced plan.
  • You have enabled the MasterTag.
  • The MasterTag plugin is set to fire unconditionally on landing and conversion pages.
  • If you have a multi-region setup: You have checked your MasterTag or MasterTags for advertiser ID discrepancies and followed the de-duplication guide to remove duplicates.

To access the Publisher Crossover Report, from the Awin UI homepage, select Reports > Insights > Publisher Crossover. By default, the report shows information for the current month.

Note: If you can’t see the Publisher Crossover report, go to Support > Contact to let us know, or contact your account manager.

Comparing Publisher Crossover

To compare the crossover of two publishers for a specific period:

  1. At the top of the page, click the Filters menu ().
    The filters window appears.
  2. Under Current Date Filters, do one of the following:
    • In the Period dropdown menu, select a period.
    • Select Specific Dates, then use the From and To fields to enter a date range.
  3. Under Previous Date Filters, do one of the following:
  4. In Previous Period, select Previous Period.
Note: Previous Period uses the timeframe set in Period to create an earlier timeframe for comparison. For example, if Previous Period is selected, and Period is set to This Month, the comparison timeframe is the current month (Period) and the previous month (Previous Period). If Period is set to last week, the comparison timeframe is one week ago (Period) and two weeks ago (Previous Period).
  5. Select Specific Dates, then use the Previous From and Previous To fields to enter a date range.
  6. In the Publisher 1 field, enter the name of the first publisher you want to compare.
  7. In the Publisher 2 field, enter the name of the second publisher you want to compare.
  8. Click the cross icon (X) to hide the Filters menu.
  9. At the top of the Crossover Performance chart, next to Compare vs. previous period, select Yes.

That chart updates to show the crossover for the selected periods.

Crossover Performance Table

Crossover between two publishers can affect the following metrics:

  • Sales Involving: Sales that had a publisher touchpoint at any point in the customer journey
  • Average Order Value: Calculated as revenue divided by Sales Involving
  • Average steps to convert: The average number of touchpoints in the conversion funnel
  • Average days to convert: The number of days between the first and last touchpoint

Crossover Over Time Chart

The Crossover Over Time Chart shows the crossover between Publisher 1 and Publisher 2 for the selected period.

Tip: To change the selected timeframe view, in the Filters menu, click Date Part then select a timeframe.

Note: Sales Involving figures do not match sales data shown in other reports as these are different metrics. Sales Involving counts every sale that had a publisher touchpoint at some point during the customer’s journey, not just when the publisher touchpoint was the last touchpoint in the customer’s journey.
