Commission by Campaign

Note: Commission by Campaign is available only for the Awin Accelerate and Awin Advanced platform offers.

Overview

Commission by Campaign provides a clearer understanding of the sources of your website traffic, and how to optimize them.

Commission by Campaign also enables you to configure publisher payouts based on a unique campaign identifier, called a value, that can be traced back to the specific campaign, and is associated with each click on your adverts. For example, as part of an agreement with a publisher for a promotional campaign, you can determine a particular value for the campaign. The publisher then incorporates this value into their promotions on their site. You can then use this value to adjust the commission rate that you pay, and reward the publisher for successfully promoting the campaign.

Note: The Publisher provides the campaign value. As such, when you set up a dynamic commission rate, you must make sure to agree upon a value and use it when you schedule the commission rate.

Configuring a New Rate Commission by Campaign Rate

To configure a Commission by Campaign rule, use the Schedule Dynamic Rates feature to configure a dynamic commission rate.

  1. Log in to the Awin UI, then click Commission > Commission Manager.
  2. Select the Publisher Commission Rates tab, then click Schedule Dynamic Rates.
  3. To complete the Schedule Dynamic Rates form, do the following:
    1. For Publishers, select the publishers that you want to include in the dynamic rate.
    2. For Condition, select Campaign, then set the condition details, provide a value for the condition, and select the Publisher Commission Rate you want to use.
    3. For Base Rates, select the base commission rate you want to use.
    4. For From and To, Set the start and end dates for the dynamic rate.
      • Tip: To set the dynamic rate to start immediately with no defined end date, for From select Now, and for To, select Ongoing.
    5. For Schedule Description, write a short summary that helps you to identify the dynamic rate.
  4. To save the dynamic rate and return to the Publisher Commission Rates tab, click Save.
Tip: For more information about campaign parameters and how they can impact tracking and reporting, refer to the Campaign Tracking & Reporting wiki page. This resource offers additional guidance on how to optimise your campaign tracking and make the most of the Schedule Dynamic Rates tool.
