What is Monotote?

What does Monotote do?

Monotote transforms inspirational images and videos on your site into shoppable moments, giving audiences the power to shop at the ‘point of inspiration’ within their favourite website or app. By removing distracting redirections, Monotote eliminates the gap between inspiration and purchase, allowing for a seamless shopping experience. Due to the ease in which customers can make purchases and the impeccable customer experience, publishers will see a higher conversion rate and an increased loyalty, whilst retailers are opened up to new revenue paths and a heightened brand value due to the contextual commerce.

How does Monotote work?

Monotote works by tagging images or videos with buy buttons that are linked to a secure and up-to-date Universal Shopping Cart. Monotote’s products and buy buttons all update in real-time to confirm the availability of sizes, models and colours as well as to ensure the pricing is still current. When a buy button is clicked, Monotote will use the retailer’s site to check the product availability. If a product is out of stock the buy button will simply disappear until the item has been restocked.

How are sales tracked and are payments secure?

Reporting will still display in your Awin account, as normal, but the use of clickrefs will enable you to distinguish which sales were generated via Monotote. The retailer still gets the order in the same way that they would if a customer had purchased it directly from their own site so the retailer will continue to handle all customer service and own the customer. Orders are placed through Monotote’s secure API over an SSL connection and are highly encrypted. Payment information is deleted from servers immediately after an order is completed and every part of the process is PCI compliant, meaning advertisers can rest assured that Monotote is secure.
