Affiliate FAQ’s

How long will it take me to complete my profile?

The interface makes it very easy for publishers to know exactly what is required from them to complete their profiles. Five easily identified criteria are included in the Profile Progress bar which is viewable on any page within your profile. The length of time it takes to complete each criterion is very short, but we do urge all publisher s to spend as much time as they need to ensure that we can categorize them correctly within our Affiliate Directory.

Is it easy to set up my profile?

Our new in-line editable description fields, and easy-to-use forms throughout the interface, make it extremely easy to set up all aspects of your publisher profile. Once you have completed all the necessary criteria outlined in the Profile Progress bar, your profile will automatically added to our Affiliate Directory.

What information can advertisers view on a publisher profile?

If you are joined up to an advertiser programme they can see all of the information on the following tabs:

  • Overview (account contacts are dependent on privacy controls)
  • Documents
  • Promotional
  • Performance
  • RSS
  • Information in the sidebar (contact details and links are dependent on privacy controls)

If you are not joined to an advertiser programme then they cannot see your contact details .

Advertisers can still send you a message through the interface but no contact details will passed to the advertiser unless you you have elected to have them displayed.

For more information on what is viewable and the privacy settings that can be applied see this page: Who can view a Publisher Profile.

Can my profile be viewed by other publishers?

No, other publishers will not be able to view the completed profiles of their counterparts at this time.

For more information on what can be viewed by others and information on what privacy controls are in place see this page: Who can view a Publisher Profile.

How often should I update my profile?

We want to ensure that we’re promoting you to our advertisers in the right way, and to do this we need high quality information. We recommend regularly revising the information you’ve provided on your profile. You could even go a step further and add an RSS feed from your website or blog.

What benefits are there to completing my profile?

  • Adding multiple URL's
  • Categorize URL's by promotional type, sector, and advertiser's they work with.
  • All advertisers on Awin will be able to access your information and services

Do I have to list all of my URLs as I own lots of URLs?

We urge you to list all of your websites that you intend on using to promote advertisers. Showing that you run a wide variety of websites, across numerous sectors and promotional types, will be advantageous compared to limiting yourself to just a handful of your most popular websites.

I don’t have a company name, what should I put?

If you don’t have a company name to add to your profile, we would suggest using the name of your primary website, or perhaps even your own name. This is the name which we will display in the Affiliate Directory for your profile. Advertisers will be able to search by either company name or website, so you don’t need to worry about your profile not being visible if you use one of your websites as your company name.

How do I add a company/affiliate name to account details?

To change the Company/Affiliate name please login to the interface and open one of your publisher accounts. Whilst on the Profile Page click on the Company Name (located below the profile picture) to be taken straight to the editable form. Alternatively, hover/click the settings cog (top right) and select Address Details. Within the address details area you will find Company Name and this is what you need to edit.

How do I create an 88x31 pixel logo?

You can create 88x31 pixel logos in almost any good image editing application. The best way to begin this process is to open your logo in an application such as Photoshop. Regardless of the dimensions of your original logo, you know that the height of the new logo must be 31 pixels. You should resize your logo to a height of 31 pixels, ensuring the size ratio is locked so that your image does not become skewed. Once you have successfully resized your logo to the correct height, you should change the canvas size of your image to 88 pixels, and possibly ensure that your image is in the center of the canvas. You should then be able to choose a background colour for the canvas if there is any white space showing. Save the image in a universal image format, such as .jpg or .gif, and you are ready to upload it into the interface.

How do I upload an 88x31 logo to my account?

The 88x31 logo upload form is located in your Account Settings area, viewable when you’re logged into your publisher profile.

Once you’ve logged into the interface, go to the publisher profile you would like to upload a logo for. Now click/hover on the Setting logo (the 'cog' in your Account Switcher panel in the top right of the screen). You will see the Account Logo link that will take you to the editable form where you can upload your logo. Click Browse to find and select the logo file on your computer. When you are happy with your selection, you can click the Upload Logo button to finish. After the page has refreshed, you should see your 88x31 pixel logo on the page.
