Every network user can have their own username and password to log in to Darwin. The user should select their email address as their username
Users can link their new user account to their different advertiser/affiliate accounts to allow a single point of access. View this page for more information on why you should create a Darwin user account.
The accounts or logins in for the Darwin administration area are not the same as publisher or advertiser account logins. They are user logins and allow access to Darwin even if you are not an publisher or advertiser.
This distinction and separation allows for two major functional changes:
- A user can link themselves to more than one publisher or advertiser account allowing simple account switching from a single login
- An publisher or advertiser account can have more than one user, each with unique login credentials and each with defined levels of access
- A user can add their own personal contact information to allow improved communication between publisher s, advertisers and the network
- A user can easily switch between Darwin and the old administration area
In addition to the above, Darwin users will get access to all the new functionality being developed by Affiliate Window. Affiliate Window is moving every system, setting and piece of functionality across to Darwin and a user account is required to get access to it.
User Access Permissions
The first user to link an advertiser or publisher account to their user account is set to 'owner' status. An owner has overall control of the publisher account and can administer the permission levels of other users who have access to that publisher or advertiser account. An owner can set other users of the account to have different levels of access rights.
Currently, users are able to control what other users can edit within their publisher or advertiser Darwin account.
Users permissions do not have any effect in the older main administration area.
Why create an account
The accounts or logins in for the Darwin administration area are not the same as publisher or advertiser account logins. They are user logins and allow access to Darwin even if you are not an publisher or an advertiser.
This distinction and separation allows for a number of functional changes:
- By signing up as a user via Darwin you are able to link yourselves to more than one publisher or advertiser account allowing simple account switching from a single login i.e two people can have access to one publisher account with only one having to be signed up as an publisher and the other as a user.
- An publisher or advertiser account can have more than one user, each with unique login credentials and each with defined levels of access
- A user can add their own personal contact information to allow improved communication between publisher s, advertisers and us as a network
- A user can easily switch between Darwin and the old administration area although we would advise to use Darwin as much as possible
In addition to the above, Darwin users will get access to all the new functionality being developed by Affiliate Window. Affiliate Window is moving every system, setting and piece of functionality across to Darwin and a user account is required to gain access to it.
