Frequently Asked Questions

Why do i need an account on the awin platform?

Awin and affilinet are currently merging into one business and this process is set to be complete by the end of 2019. In order to create a unified, global affiliate network for our clients, we are migrating all programs and publishers into one single platform – the Awin platform.

What happens if i already have an awin account?

During the migration process we will be in contact with you to inquire wether you have an existing account to which we can migrate your affilinet partnerships to. If you have no account at Awin we will create one for you and proceed to migrate your partnerships.

What will happen with my program memberships?

Once a program you have a partnership with migrates, the membership will be replicated on to the new account(s) we have created for you, or to the accounts we have consolidated your activities to.

Once a program you have a membership with migrates – you will receive an email notification.

Where do i find an overview of already migrated advertisers?

Please bookmark the following website to access the upcoming/current advertiser migration status.

Will i have to reapply to my programs?

No, all of your program memberships will automatically be replicated onto your account(s) on the Awin platform once they migrate.

What happens if i have activities in more than one affilinet country?

The Awin platform enables you to have partnerships with advertisers in all active regions with one account. Our recommendation is for you to consolidate all your affilinet publisher accounts onto one Awin account unless you have internal requirements to separate your activities into single accounts.

Why do i have a new account if programs in my region won’t migrate yet?

We are commencing the migration of your Publisher Account prior to the advertiser migration, in order to give you ample time to familiarise and set up your new account on the new platform.

Additionally, you will be able to have immediate access to our complete program base across multiple territories and verticals including retail & shopping, telco, travel and finance.

Do i have to do anything even if i have no active partnerships in my new account?

Yes - please make sure you complete your profile on the new platform to ensure programs are able to find you once they migrate:

  • Profile information (include short description!)
  • Bank details + VAT details (leave out the country code, e.g. “DE”, in front of the VAT number)
  • Promotional spaces (your adspaces/URLs)
  • Company Logo (include profile picture)
  • Active Sales Regions
  • Active Industries
  • Users linked to your account / correct owner
  • Primary Promotional Type (if applicable, you can add secondary promotional types). In case your primary Promotional Type is incorrect, please contact your local migration hotline (see below).

Will i have to change my technical settings?

Some technical changes on your side are required, such as Publisher Webservice, Product feeds and Order Notification. Make sure to familiarise/reintegrate the equivalents of all your current affilinet integrations on the new platform.

Publisher SubID:
If you are using sub ID's on current affilinet programmes you will need to implement click ref on the Awin platform.

To do this please follow this link Publisher_Click_Ref

Do i have to change my links? What will happen with my existing affilinet links?

All existing affilinet links will continue to be tracked for a certain period of time. As soon as a program you have a partnership with has migrated to the Awin platform, our central tracking system will redirect clicks and sales to your Awin publisher account.

What will happen to my payments?

All affilinet payments will continue to be paid out as usual. However, once a program migrates you will receive credit notes on the new platform and the payments will be transferred to the bank details you provide on the new Awin account.

What will happen with my statistics?

Once a program migrates all new stats will appear on the Awin reporting.
