DACH affilinet Advertiser FAQ's

What is the last date I can migrate to Awin from affilinet?

The last possible date you can migrate from affilinet to Awin is 30 September 2019 unless otherwise agreed.

What is happening to the affilinet platform on 30 September 2019?

Monday 30 September is the last trading day of the affilinet platform. From 01 October, no new transactions will appear in your affilinet program. If you have migrated to Awin, all transactions which are generated via affilinet tracking links and where a publisher partnership is valid, will be forwarded to your new program. You will be able to identify any transactions generated via affilinet tracking in "custom parameter 10. affilinet" within your transaction list.

You will have until 24 October to validate open transactions on your affilinet account.

From 25 October onward, any open transaction you have not been able to validate on your affilinet program will be transferred to your Awin program. You will then be free to accept, amend or decline these orders on Awin via your normal validation process. Please note, all original order dates will be respected in line with any auto-validation period you have on your program.

You will receive the final invoice to settle the balance of your affilinet program in early November.

I have migrated my account from affilinet to Awin using the Awin Pixel (and Order Synchronisation). What will happen to my affilinet account from 01 October 2019?

From 01 October, all new transactions will be automatically redirected to your migrated Awin program.

All orders that are still generated on the affilinet platform will be forwarded via our Order Synchronisation tool to your Awin program and will be deleted from the affilinet interface.

You will be able to validate any pending transactions on your affilinet program until 24 October. After this time, the order validation functionality will no longer be available.

For technical reasons, the log-in to your affilinet account will remain available until 28 February 2020. You will be able to access any historical data until this time, however, we strongly recommend downloading and saving any reports you need as early as possible.

I have migrated my account using the Awin 'Central Tracking System' (Advertiser CTS) and my affilinet pixel is still in place. Will my tracking still work after 30 September?

Yes, your affilinet tracking pixel will continue to work after 30 September. By activating the Awin Advertiser CTS tool, we ensure transactions generated via affilinet tracking links and where a publisher partnership is valid, will be forwarded to your new program. The same applies if we have switched on the Order Synchronisation tool.

To benefit from the full suite of features available on the Awin platform, please integrate the Awin pixel alongside your existing affilinet pixel at your earliest convenience. Please refer to our Advertiser Tracking Guide for more information about how to integrate the Awin pixel:http://wiki.awin.com/index.php/Advertiser_Tracking_Guide

Important: do not remove the affilinet tracking pixel, unless otherwise instructed.

Please inform your Awin Account Manager as soon as you have implemented the Awin tracking pixel.

When can I remove my affilinet Pixel?

Please do not remove the affilinet tracking until you have been instructed to do so by your Awin Account Manager.

When you have implemented the Awin Pixel, and all transactions are generated via Awin tracking links, we can begin the process for removing your affilinet pixel. Please contact your Awin Account Manager for more information on this step.

If you have migrated using Awin Advertiser CTS, you must first integrate the Awin Mastertag before you can remove the affilinet Pixel. Please refer to our Advertiser Tracking Guide for more information about how to integrate the Awin Pixel:http://wiki.awin.com/index.php/Advertiser_Tracking_Guide

Once you have implemented the Awin tracking, please reach out to your Awin Account Manager to perform a tracking test.

If you have not migrated your account to Awin, your program will be set to 'On Hold'.

You must validate any pending transactions on your affilinet program by 24 October. After this time, the order validation functionality will no longer be available. Any orders you have not validated by this time, will be automatically approved.

For technical reasons, the log-in to your affilinet account will remain available until 28 February 2020. You will be able to access any historical data until this time, however, we strongly recommend downloading and saving any reports you need as early as possible.

Not all of my publishers have changed their tracking to Awin links. What will happen to their transactions after 30 September?

We strongly advise publishers to update their affilinet tracking to Awin links as soon as possible.

As an advertiser, you will no longer maintain any banners, textlinks or product data on the affilinet platform following your migration to Awin. In order for your publishers to work with the most up to date materials, they should update to the relevant Awin equivalent as soon as possible.

Using our automatic redirect system (Advertiser CTS/Order Synchronisation/Click CTS), we guarantee that orders tracked via an affilinet link and where a valid publisher partnership between affilinet and Awin exists, will continue to be forwarded into your Awin program for a limited time period.

From 01 October, you will be able to log-in to your affilinet program and access all your normal functionality including affilinet reports and order validations.

As a migrated advertiser, any transaction you have not been able to validate by 24 October 2019, and where a valid publisher partnership between affilinet and Awin exists, will be transferred as an open order to your Awin account using our automated system. The automated transferal of your order will start on 25 October, and conclude no later than 31 October 2019.

Each transferred transaction will:

  • Respect the original order transaction date
  • Respect the remaining validation period based on when it was tracked in affilinet
  • Be imported on the Awin commission template rate with which the publisher is operating
  • Map the affilinet Sub ID to the Awin pref
  • Map the affilinet original Order Date to the Awin parameter "tdt"
  • Map the affilinet original Click Date to the Awin customparameter5
  • Be identifiable as a transferred transactions via custom parameter "10:affilinet"

Following the successful transferal, the order will be cancelled from your affilinet program with the reason “Moved to Awin”.

Please keep in mind that the Awin auto-confirmation settings will override any setting previously on your affilinet program. In the unlikely instance a very old open order is transferred from affilinet to Awin (if, for example, the affilinet auto-confirmation setting was deactivated), the order may be automatically processed and confirmed on Awin. Therefore we strongly recommend you review all old open orders with high priority.

Where a valid publisher partnership between affilinet and Awin does not exist, the order can not be transferred to Awin. As a migrated advertiser, any open order that can not be transferred to Awin, will be rejected from your affilinet program. You will not be invoiced for this order.
