What is Call Window / Call Tracking?

Call Window is Awin’s call tracking solution, which allows affiliates to generate commissions when customers decide to contact the merchant website by telephone rather than convert on the website confirmation page.

Call Window will track these interactions either on a call duration, and commissions are then uploaded hourly to the interface.

How Does It Work?

The merchant will integrate a small piece of script on to their website which will change their telephone number for the user, depending on which affiliate website they clicked through to get there.

As an alternative, or in addition to this activity, an advertiser can give individual, unique telephone numbers out to affiliates which the affiliate can then place on their own website.

All calls are diverted to the advertiser call centre to be dealt with by their sales team. The journey is seamless to any potential customers who will not be aware their call is being tracked.

No personal details about the caller are recorded in the process.

Call Window Payment Models

There are two payment models for Call Window:

"Call Duration" or "Cost per Call"

Affiliate commission is calculated based upon a call duration agreed with the merchant in advance. A structure may look like this:

2 minutes: £2.00 commission 10 minutes: £20.00 commission

Commissions do not stack with the passage of time, but longer call durations will frequently earn higher bounties. When commissions are reported, they will appear as a "lead" - meaning that no order value will be recorded or % commission awarded.

Commissions will always be for a set value as in the structure above, or similar.

CPA (Cost Per Action)

The merchant will keep a record of all the calls that occur where a transaction occurs. This happens through the merchant call centre, and then details are sent by automated report to Call Window.

Valid sales are then reported to the interface, where the affiliate will see the full details of the sale including how much was spent and % commission paid.

What Are The Benefits to Affiliates?

More Commissions Generated

Affiliates promoting programs where Call Window is enabled should see an improvement in their overall commissions earned. This is because programs with Call Window have closed the leakage gap in the program, allowing affiliates to earn commission even when a user decides to convert over the phone.

Promote Via Online and Offline Promotions

As an affiliate promoting a static number on their website, you have the flexibility to be able to promote merchants online and offline and using your full range of promotional methods. Please make sure you check with the merchant before you start a new promotional method for calls - however - the sky is the limit and creativity is welcomed.

Improvement of Conversion Rates

Implementation of Call Window brings about an improvement to an affiliate's conversion rates, as now more clicks result in a commissionable event. Previously those events were being "lost" meaning that many clicks would not have resulted in a tracked commission.

Reviewing Call Window Campaigns

Calls are tracked by the Call Window system and reported into the interface on an hourly basis. For each call that occurs, the affiliate will be able to tell which commission tier the call duration reached (on a duration model), or their % commission in the case of a CPA model. This enables the affiliate to be able to see how well individual promotions perform.
